Culturally Sensitive Social Work Practices with Asian Indian Clients in Mental Health Settings

This is a Three Rivers District District event. The common myth of the "model minority” suggests that Asian Indian minorities do not experience problems associated with the general population such as financial instability, social-emotional disorders, school-related behavior problems, career difficulties, and family dysfunctions. This presentation is focused on the unique characteristics within the Asian Indian population which every clinician, social worker, and educator should be aware of to effectively support our clients.

8:45 - 9:00am - Registration - Sign-in
9:00am - 12:00pm - Presentation
