Public Library Social Work: An Emerging Field

This is a Chicago District event. When you hear the word “interdisciplinary” as applied to social work, you may think of collaboration with doctors, nurses, or other professionals in the medical field. Now social workers are working with a unique partner—the public library. Amita Health partners with the Chicago Public Library and Evanston Public Library to reach community members in an innovative way. Learn about the role of social workers in library settings.

All courses offered through the NASW-Illinois Chapter meet the continuing education qualifications for LSWs, LCSWs, LPCs, LCPCs, LMFTs, RNs, APNs, LCPs, and LMFTs licensed in Illinois as required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). NASW-IL is also a Illinois State Board of Education-approved licensed professional development provider for PELs (formerly Type 73s) for school social workers.
