Please Note-Workshops
fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. The classes
listed here are the only classes currently scheduled, please check back
here for current updates.
Cancellation Policy
While the NASW understands that
emergencies do occur, a registered participant has already been factored
into cost. Participants who cancel with 30 days or more notice may
receive a refund at 100%. Any cancellations received within 30
days of their course will not be eligible for a refund, but may apply
their fee to one of the next two classes currently scheduled. Any
"no shows" the day of the event will not be eligible for a refund, nor
the option to apply their fee to a future course.

social work practice and the factors that impact the process.
Through an interactive process we will analyze the role of a social
worker and the challenges of integrating human sexuality into social work

role as a social worker and the resources that can assist in that process.

Understanding Juvenile Sex Offender Issues-
Assessment, Treatment and Public Policy in 2008
Presenter:
Robin McGinnis, MSW Founder and CEO - Alternative Behavior Treatment
Centers, a comprehensive non-profit agency focusing on treatment for children,
adolescents, adults and families who have experienced trauma. ABTC provides a
full continuum of treatment from locked-correctional programming at IYC-Kewanee
to outpatient and specialized assessments for adults and juveniles sex
offenders. Ms. McGinnis is the past president of the Association for the
Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA).
Description:
The presentation will offer a brief overview of the
current literature related to youth who have acted out sexually, the strides
made in treatment, and the negative effects of sweeping national public policy.
