February 2017 - Jane Addams District Update

Carol H. Fisher, LCSW

Greetings Jane Addams District Members!  NASW is hearing serious concerns from many of you about rapid political and policy changes on the federal level and in the state of Illinois.  Many express very real concerns about our clients, our agencies, our practices, and ourselves.  How can we be heard?  Where can we bring influence? What is legal and ethical to do?  Please join us on March 20, 2017 for Time to Take the Gloves Off for a spirit discussion with an esteemed panel including Pam Clark-Reidenbach from Rockford College's Center for Non-Profit Excellence and Kyle Hillman, NASW - IL Director of Legislative Affairs.  State and Federal legislators have also been invited but are not yet confirmed.  Register here:  www.naswil.org/calendar/events/4475/. This meeting will (appropriately) also serve as our annual meeting for Social Work Month.

Also, please join me in welcoming new member Andrew Selander to Jane Addams District.
