GROW: A Social Worker in Your Pocket - Technology & Mobile Apps in Private Practice

According to the United Nation’s study on sanitation, of the world’s total population of 7 billion people, 6 billion of them have access to cellphones, while only 4.5 billion have
access to clean water and bathrooms (United Nations, 2013). While terrible news for sanitation, this is an eye-opening statistic that underscores the need for initiatives within social work to utilize technology in everyday practice. Whether the clinician is working with individuals for mental health or health-related issues, there is a complementary role to be played by web tools, applications (apps), and even access to care.
