July 2018 - Northeastern District Update

Lynn Zakeri, LCSW

What a fantastic, special event we had during Pride Month. Thank you to all of you who were there.

I look forward to a similar format on the topic of ethics in the fall, along with an event on eating disorders. Details will come out in the next month or so, so you can save the dates.

I appreciate all the participation and communications. Please always feel free to send me an email and introduce yourself. If there is anything I can do to make your membership in NASW more helpful or valuable, just let me know.

Don't forget to consider nominating someone for a Social Work Award (deadline is 7/31).  There are  four categories: Social Worker of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Public Citizen of the Year, and Emerging Leader. Please help  give recognition to a deserving colleague, social worker, or citizen! http://naswil.org/news/chapter-news/featured/accepting-nominations-for-the-2018-social-work-awards/

Additionally, there is a conference in October. Our chapter will be hosting our biannual The Business of Social Work conference on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Registration is now live with more information about the day’s workshops to come. There will be the potential to earn 6.0 CEUs at the conference. To register now for early bird rates, go to: https://naswbiz.eventbrite.com

Have a wonderful summer.
