July 2018 - Jane Addams District Update

Patricia Schofield, LCSW, CADC

I'm your new district chair and looking forward to meeting and working with all of you over the next two years. I'm a retired school social worker, most recently retrired as administrator of New Direction Couseling in Princeton Illinois. I live in the northeastern corner of the state about 40 miles west of Moiline in a rual area called Neponset. My main goal over the next two years will be to bring some CEU events out to more rural communities as well as the major cities. I encourage everyone with ideas on topics, speakers, or locations to in get touch with me and let's make it happen. Please know that travel is not a problem for me, and I can come to you. Already things are going very well because today I can welcome two new members, Brett Jacobson and Shawna Johnson. We are excited to have you join us and look forward to meeting both of you soon. Speaking of soon, please mark off the morinng of August 24th.  That is a Friday, and I'm in the process of planning a workshop at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. The title is not set but the topic wil provide information on how to respond to the opiate problems so many communities are struggling with today. Complete information will be sent out shortly after the 4th of July holiday. Have a safe and happy holiday.
