November 2013 - West Central District Update

Audrey LeMasters, PhD, LCSW

Let's begin with a big welcome to our newest member of the West Central District, Tiffany Hurt.

We are quickly approaching the licensure renewal time. Don't find yourself short. There are numerous opportunities to get last minute CEUs through the NASW Illinois Chapter. You can go to the chapter website (www.naswil.org) for information on CEU opportunities that exist throughout the state.

CHAPTER NEWS

Did You Know...?

Social workers work in a very complicated world. Social workers are held to the NASW Code of Ethics, but the decisions we must make aren't always clear. Remember that the NASW Code of Ethics are listed on the http://naswil.org/social-work-practice/ethics/.

This Month's Challenge

National Social Work Month is in March. We need to begin our search for district award nominees. All awardee nominations must be submitted by January 31, 2013. The nomination forms are available on the website. If you know someone you would like to nominate for Social Worker of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, or Public Citizen Award, please consider submitting nomination forms.

I look forward to hearing from you.
