Biography:
Jamie Robinson
(Des
Plaines,
IL)
received her B.A. in Human Services
and Spanish in 2003 from
Millikin
University
in
Decatur,
IL.
She is a
candidate for the MSW degree from
Dominican
University
in
River Forest,
IL
and will be completing her
coursework in May 2008.
Her
social service experience includes
previously working as a Family
Service Specialist for CEDA Head
Start, and is currently employed
with the Early Childhood Block Grant
(ECBG) as a Community and Parent
Involvement Coordinator.
Last
year, Jamie completed a field
placement through Youth Outreach
Services in
Albany
Park
and provided substance abuse
counseling to middle school students
at
Aspira-Haugan
Middle School
in
Chicago,
IL.
Jamie’s
recent field placement is at
Buffalo Grove
High School
in district 214 as a school social
work intern.
Jamie’s
passion is working with youth and
adolescents, and she will be taking
the Type 73 exam this summer after
graduation to become certified as a
school social worker.
Jamie is
especially interested in working
with substance abuse treatment and
hopes to continue her education and
obtain her CADC from the IAODAPCA
after she graduates from Dominican.
She was
recently voted the Student
Association President by her peers
and is excited to represent
Dominican
University
at the NASW.
