BIO
Mary E. Garrison, MSW, LCSW, ACSW, is assistant professor of social work at Millikin University. Mary has over fifteen years of practice experience in the mental health field working with severely and persistently mentally ill adults. Mary’s teaching responsibilities/interests include social work ethics, cultural diversity, community mental health, and introduction to the helping professions. Her research interests include mental health recovery and the consumer movement as well as addressing homelessness. Additionally, Mary provides private LCSW supervision to licensure candidates. Mary is president of Mental Health America/McLean County, serves on the McLean County Mental Health Initiative Committee, and is a member of the Work group to End Chronic Homelessness in Decatur, IL. She is also an NASW Delegate Assembly member.
