February 2022 - Three Rivers District Update

Becka Ross, MSW, LCSW

Three Rivers District Chair

Hello Three Rivers District NASW members! I hope you all are keeping warm and enjoying the snow! HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH! As we continue to celebrate Black History month, I’d like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the African American Mental Health Pioneers in our field. Please take the time to learn about these often overlooked leaders that have shaped where we are today.

Thank you for all you do to continue to advocate for mental health services, and thank you for your membership and commitment to NASW. Your membership allows NASW to provide support and advocate for the important issues that us social workers are managing every day. I’d also like to send a warm welcome to all of our new members!

Oftentimes this skill set is not taught in the classroom; this session will give education on best practices of using social media as a macro level tool that all social workers can engage in.
