Thank you to Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, State Senator Karina Villa, State Representative Maura Hirschauer, and the support of NASW-Illinois Chapter members—their collective effort resulted in the signing of House Bill 2400 (HB2400) into law today, reforming active shooter drills to rein in traumatic training exercises law enforcement were doing with students present. The bill was an NASW-Illinois Chapter initiative and goes into effect immediately.
