NASW-PACE congratulates Senators-Elect Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff

NASW-IL Staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NASW’s Political Action for Candidate Election (NASW-PACE) congratulates Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff on their historic wins in Georgia to become U.S. senators. NASW-PACE endorsed, supported and provided field organizing for both Warnock and Ossoff for the January 5 runoff election.

Reverend Warnock is Georgia’s first Black senator and Jon Ossoff is the state’s first Jewish senator. Senator-elect Ossoff, 33, is also the youngest Democrat to be elected to the Senate since President-elect Joe Biden was elected to that body in 1973.

“NASW-PACE was proud to endorse Reverend Warnock and Jon Ossoff in their runoff elections in Georgia. This is a phenomenal result. Each of them will advance a policy agenda reflecting social work values and we look forward to working with them in the Senate,” said NASW-PACE Chair, Mary Jane Lundgren, MSW, RN.
