Help out your
community and Join NASW IL for a “Day of Service” Tuesday March
9th from 1pm-4pm at the Greater Chicago Food Depository 4100
West Ann Lurie Place Chicago, IL 60632 . Volunteer
responsibilities include repacking bulk products to
individual/family sizes, assembling boxes with assorted food,
checking expiration dates, labeling products, gleaning products,
etc.
What to Bring!
Each volunteer is
encouraged to bring an item of nonperishable food. Most
needed itemds are: Cereal, Oatmeal, Canned Vegetables, Soup,
Tuna, Canned Fruit, Rice, Beans, Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Peanut
Butter, Jelly, Mac ‘n’ cheese.
What
to Wear!

Volunteers must wear pants and
closed-toed shoes. Jeans and sneakers are best. No
volunteers may enter the warehouse in shorts or
open-toed shoes. No exceptions.

The NASW IL Chapter is proud to announce its first book club selection—Push: A Novel by Sapphire. We will be discussion the book in April following
Social Work Month. Read the book and come discuss it with other social
work colleagues. Drinks and snacks will be provided. The book club
discussion is free to all who attend. One CEU credit will be offered to
those who are interested ($10).
