Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee serves as an advisory body to chapter staff, offering expertise and feedback on legislative and policy matters impacting the social work profession and the communities it serves. The committee’s purpose is to enhance the chapter’s advocacy efforts by providing diverse perspectives, informed recommendations, and strategic guidance to support the chapter’s legislative priorities and initiatives.

DEIAB
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging Committee
This committee works to promote the NASW programs and efforts that encourage awareness, respect, and appreciation of diversity in the social work profession and our society. Its particular focus includes race and ethnic diversity, social justice, women advancement, and sexual orientation (LGBTTQQIAAP) issues.

Ethics
Ethics Committee
The Chapter Ethics Committee (CEC) promotes the quality and effectiveness of social work practice. The CEC aids in providing understanding of our code of ethics in ethical dilemmas raised by the board, committee, and persons in the community. The CEC is able to provide education and training to NASW members in coordination with the National Ethics Committee (NEC) and the Office of Professional Review (OEPR). Professional review is a collaborative process between chapters and the national office to provide a peer review of alleged unethical conduct of its members. Volunteers from the NASW-IL CEC may represent the chapter in the proceedings of the National Ethics Committee, particularly those concerning Illinois state social workers.

Nominations & Leadership Identity (CCNLI)
Nominations & Leadership Identity Committee
The Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identity (CCNLI) is responsible for conducting the chapter's nominations, selection, and election process in accordance with the Standards for NASW Chapter Nomination and Elections.

Political Action (PAC)
Political Action Committee
This committee helps to elect candidates for public office who support legislation and policies consistent with the goals of the social work profession. It promotes NASW legislative policies through political action and through support of candidates. It also promotes political education and full participation in the electoral political process among NASW-Illinois Chapter members.
