2020 Natalie M. Ross Scholarship for Professional Development in Aging

Updated: Dec 14, 2023

This scholarship is intended to support a National Association of Social Workers, Illinois Chapter (NASW-IL) member and Illinois resident, who, while not working in the field of aging, is interested in exploring the field and the opportunities it presents for social workers. The award will be used to support the recipient’s attendance at the Annual American Society on Aging’s (ASA) Aging in America Conference, which will take place this year, March 24-27, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. The award honors Natalie Ross, PhD, LCSW, who has always felt that the passion generated at ASA’s conferences is infectious, and that conference attendance is a highly effective way to encourage social workers to work with an aging population.

Interested candidates should send a copy of their resume and a one-page summary describing their interests in the field of aging to Joel L. Rubin, NASW-Illinois Chapter Executive Director at jrubin.naswil@socialworkers.org. All applications will be reviewed by a committee of social workers with expertise in aging practice.

Application Deadline: February 1, 2020
