WASHINGTON, D.C. - Patricia Welch Saleeby of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois has been appointed new editor-in-chief of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW)  Health & Social Work journal, by NASW President Yvonne Chase. Dr. Saleeby’s term will begin on May 1, 2025.

NASW Press thanks Christine Rine, the previous editor-in-chief, for her work in championing and leading the journal for two four-year terms.

"I am honored to assume the role as editor-in-chief for Health and Social Work, which has played a key role over the years in informing social work students, educators, and practitioners about relevant health, mental health and behavioral issues," Saleeby said. "I am committed to expanding this awareness not only in social work, but to individuals outside of social work so that they understand the role and value of social work in health contexts."

For the past 20 years, human services professionals have relied on Health & Social Work for the latest advances in areas such as aging, clinical work, long-term care, oncology, substance abuse, depression, and maternal health. Articles also cover research, policy, specialized services, quality assurance, in-service training, and other topics that affect the delivery of health care services.
