Jane Addams District Update
Hello everyone, and happy autumn!
It is anticipated that the IDFPR has adequately notified all recipients regarding the exemption of license renewal fees for the present cycle. If you have not already done so, please visit the website of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to complete the online renewal process. You are formally invited to partake in a forthcoming Jane Addams District event, which has been scheduled to take place on October 11, 2023. The upcoming event will include a lecture delivered by Richard Apple, MSW, a former social worker, who will be addressing the subject of Alzheimer's disease and dementia. The forthcoming Continuing Education Unit (CEU) event holds great importance for the Jane Addams District, as it signifies first in-person event in a few years! I express my genuine enthusiasm of observing the attendance of each and every individual at this event.
It is crucial to underscore the growth of compassion and kindness towards oneself in both professional and personal spheres, given the potentially strenuous demands of our employment. Participating in acts of kindness allows individuals to cultivate a more expansive perspective on life and provides therapeutic advantages to both the individual doing the act and the individual receiving it. It is important to emphasize the significance of self-appreciation and self-love as individuals persist in their pursuit of both professional and personal endeavors. According to the account of the ancient Greek storyteller Aesop, it is posited "No instance of benevolence, regardless of its magnitude, goes unrewarded."
Kindly,
Sarah Birdsill
