Social Work Compact Initial Draft Released—Your Feedback is Needed!

Last week, the Council of State Governments (CSG) released an initial draft of the Social Work Compact for review and public comment. To read the Social Work Compact draft model language, click the button below to download.

Due to the significant impact the compact will have on Illinois social workers, we are requesting all Illinois social workers to review the draft model language and to submit your feedback on the document to the chapter by Monday, August 15, 2022. We will be reviewing and collating all feedback on the compact for review by the NASW-Illinois Chapter Board of Directors as well as for the larger national NASW listening session.

Click the button below to submit your feedback on the draft language.

More About the Interstate Licensure Compact

The Council of State Governments (CSG) is partnering with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) with support from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Clinical Social Work Association (CSWA) to support the mobility of licensed social workers through the development of a new interstate compact. This additional licensing pathway will facilitate multistate practice among member states and reduce the barriers to license portability.
