August 2021 - Southern District Update

Diona Shelton, LCSW, CATP, CCT

Southern District Chair

Welcome to August!

August is always a busy time of year as we settle into the dog days of summer and return to the busy schedule that the back-to-school year brings for many students. I would like to take this time to give a quick shout out to all of my district school social workers who are returning this year. Your presence is greatly needed to support students, families, and educators in the school year ahead. Please know that you are each making a difference in the lives of students every day and I wish you all a very successful school year!

Our first virtual gathering is upon us, and there is still time to register to attend this event. Our virtual gathering is scheduled for August 6th from 10:00-11:00a.m. Please register at this link: https://naswil.wufoo.com/forms/43030080621southern-district-networking-event

This will be a casual meet and greet that will allow us to network and discuss social work issues related to the Southern District. I hope to see you there!

Also, I want to welcome our new and renewing members. We are glad that you are here!

Lastly, if you have a topic that you would like to present, please reach out to me, as we are always on the lookout for dynamic speakers who are willing to show their social work spirit!
