January 2021 - Jane Addams District Update

Patricia Schofield, Jane Addams District Chair

Hello Jane Addams District Members,

I hope you all got through the holidays and pray this new year brings good health, hope, and peace to our country and the world.

Welcome to all new and renewing NASW members. Thank you for your continued support of NASW and its mission.

For those of you looking for your CEU certificate from the 2020 NASW-Illinois Chapter Virtual Conference: Rethinking Ethics, rest assured they are working on this and all should have them before the end of January.

If you are interested in Illinois government and want to keep informed about laws that are being written I suggest you watch the advocacy page: https://www.naswil.org/advocacy-alerts

If you need CEUs, check out the website as past workshops have been recorded and are available for your viewing: https://www.naswil.org/events

March is Social Work Month, and it will be here before you know it. Social Work Month is an annual campaign that educates the public about the contributions of social workers and gives social workers and their allies tools they can use to promote the profession. Visit www.HelpStartsHere.org

Remember if you are interested in presenting for the NASW-Illinois Chapter, please submit your presentation proposal through our Volunteer Speaker Application: https://naswil.wufoo.com/forms/naswil-volunteer-speaker-application/

May each of you remain safe and hopeful as we start this new year.

Peace

Patricia Schofield
