Happy New Year! Welcome to 2023! I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. Hopefully, you all have enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and are gearing up for a joyous new year! As your District Chair, I would like to acknowledge all of you for all that you have accomplished in 2022. Your hard work, dedication, resilience, and success is celebrated. It is a pleasure to serve as the Calumet District Chair. I look forward to continuing my term and serving the district through advocacy, support, and planning events that will assist in our professional development. I am currently planning our next CEU event, which will be held during Social Work Month. Anthony Estreet, a professor and former chair of the Master of Social Work Program at Morgan State University and chief executive officer of a behavioral health company in Baltimore, will be the new chief executive officer of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) beginning February 6. New Student Loan Repayment Program Launches for Community Behavioral Health Care Professionals

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has launched the application for a student loan repayment assistance program to support qualified mental health and substance abuse professionals. The Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program is designed as an incentive for recruitment and retention of those who practice in underserved or rural areas.
