Jacki Brunk, LCSW, Northeastern District Chair
Welcome to the monthly district update of the NASW-IL Northeastern District! As I am new to this position, I want to make every effort to hear from members in my district to ensure everyone is getting the most pertinent information as well as finding opportunities to earn CEUs and connect with other social workers!
Summer is well under way, along with hot temperatures and sunny weather! This past month we celebrated Juneteenth, now recognized as a national and state holiday. As summer activities and celebrations continue, see below for updates in our Illinois chapter as well as an update to our district.
Next District Event
Our next event is currently in the planning stages, but expect to see an alert of an event for this August. I will keep everyone updated when this event is scheduled and how to register. I am planning to schedule this event in person; other future events will either be in-person or virtual. Please feel free to reach out to me with ideas and suggestions on topics you are interested in. I will also send out a survey to get more information from members on what everyone is looking for.

If you have previously bookmarked the old URL (idfpr.com) to your website browser, please note that the IDFPR website has changed to a new domain: idfpr.illinois.gov. We will be updating links to IDFPR on our own chapter website accordingly and appreciate your patience as we update this content.
2021–2023 LSW/LCSW Licensure News and Updates
We announced changes in IDFPR licensure renewal requirements in an article published on November 30, 2021, and updated it with frequently asked questions. We’ve been getting questions from members about whether the in-person CEU waiver will be repeated for the new cycle. Read about that and more here: https://www.naswil.org/post/idfpr-licensure-renewal-requirements-for-2021-2023
