Confidentiality Requirements and Exceptions (focusing on limiting court and legal pitfalls)

Learning Goals The presentation will cover aspects of a mental health confidentiality, providing providers knowledge to limit involvement in the courts. The intention is to provide mental health providers an acute understanding of patient and clinician rights and obligations and, or to reduce personal, professional and licensure liability.

Objectives: How to understand confidentiality in real life scenarios-Malpractice avoidance-Protecting your license and your livelihood

Speaker: Jonathan D. Nye, Attorney, Nye Law Group, Ltd. managing partner, began practice in 1992. He practices extensively in the areas of Mental Health Law, Family Law, Guardianship, Small Business, and General Litigation. Mr. Nye has lectured to Judges and Hearing officers, Legal and Mental Health agencies, associations, and human services practices on subjects related to legal issues Mental Health, Human Services, and Family Law.


As those of you who have attended any of Jonathan's events know he is an extremely knowledgeable resource for social worker practitioners. You will enjoy a robust morning and gain insight and knowledge into best practices for social workers in 2022.
