Greetings Calumet District,


I hope that this e-mail finds you doing well and prospering. As we embark on a new season and many uncertainties in our society, my we find hope in knowing that we are the answer to much of what plagues our society. May we as social workers, find ourselves continuing to serve and meet this great need, while not neglecting the needs of ourselves. History has shown us, that in times of calamity, it was the work of social workers that helped put the world back together again. Social workers this is our charge to arise and shine!!! Be well and serve well!


DISTRICT EVENT:

Ethics and Boundaries in a World of Technology Date: Monday, September 27 2021, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Presenters: Jeanne Wagner, MSW, LCSW ACSW CEUs: 3.0 Ethics Description: In this Calumet District CEU event, participants will gain an enhanced awareness of the complicated nature of technology and social media as it interfaces with the provision of services within human service organizations. Participants will learn techniques for ethical decision-making in situations where technology or social media is utilized. This program is designed to be interactive as participants share challenging ethical issues encountered in their practice. Internet-based services including counseling, education, therapy groups and other social services utilizing technology will be addressed. The establishment of professional boundaries while using social media and providing services in a virtual world will be addressed.
