Samantha Allen, MSW, LCSW, Calumet District Chair
Greetings Calumet District,
I hope you all are well and in good spirits. Fall is has arrived! I hope you all have something great to look forward to as we transition into this beautiful fall season.
I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone that participated in the district’s CEU event, Social Work Best Practice Training in Community Re-Entry Service Delivery. Our trainer, Gregory Gaither, MSW, MEd, PEL, provided a great deal of useful information and also empowered us to continue to advocate for positive change. Thank you, Gregory, for your time and instructions. We had a good time learning about the process of re-entry and the impacts on the community as well as ways to advocate and support this client population.
It was great to connect with you all. I hope to have more opportunities to connect and support each other. Again, I look forward to meeting and working with as many of you as I can during my time as the district chair.
We hope to see you at next chapter event!
If you would like to get involved with the chapter, have ideas for chapter events or CEUs or would be like to recommend a topic or presenter, please feel free to e-mail.
All the best,
Samantha Allen, LCSW
Calumet District Chair

Ask NASW-IL: Can I see my client via telehealth if they travel outside of Illinois?
As "reopening" continues and social workers and their clients become more mobile in their locations, social workers are ethically and legally responsible for understanding if they can continue utilizing telehealth services if they or their client leaves the state.
