Hello District Members,


Happy Easter! May this spring bring peace, comfort, and new hope to all.


Welcome to all new and renewing NASW members. We are excited to have you in our district.


Virtual Event: We will be hosting a one-hour training one Monday, May 3, 2021, from 12:00 to 1:00pm. "Cultivating Wellness in a Fast-Paced Society" will explore what it means to live a balanced life. Learn new wellness strategies to help bring about new changes and reset unproductive patterns. Our guest speaker, Michelle McKinnie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Michelle is a seasoned presenter at Harold Washington College. Additionally, she has presented for NASW on various topics related specifically to mental health and self-care for professionals.


Chapter Elections: Don’t forget to vote! Elections for the 2021 NASW-Illinois Chapter Board of Directors began on April 1st and end April 30th. Please check the chapter website for the full election slate as well as bios for each of the candidates. Ballots were e-mailed to all. All need to take part in your chapter election!

2021 Virtual Advocacy Day

2021 NASW Chapters Conference

The NASW-Illinois Chapter is opening a call for presentations that are creative, interactive, and audience-engaged. We are seeking one-hour presentations that are creative, interactive, and audience-engaged. Proposals should have dynamic presenters who can lead social workers through discussions and peer-sharing about topics relating to social work practice and must fulfill IDFPR requirements for CEU education.
