Dear Northeastern District Members,
Happy November and Native American Heritage Month! We are fortunate in Northeastern Illinois to have many resources available to connect with Native and Indigenous people and the Indigenous history of our region. Now is a wonderful time to explore and commit to land acknowledgments, connect with organizations like the Chicago American Indian Community Collaborative and the American Indian Center, and advocate for inclusive policies and practices, like culturally relevant approaches to mental health and a celebration of Indigenous People’s Day.
This fall, I would also invite you to join us for an opportunity to network and have some fun. Please join us on Monday, November 08, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. We will have trivia with prizes and opportunities to connect with other professionals!

2021 Licensure Renewal Deadline Extended
While the NASW-Illinois Chapter remains in contact with IDFPR regarding when LSW and LCSW licenses will be available to renew, we sent out an e-mail to the entire membership in mid-October about extension of the renewal deadline to February 28, 2022. Read more about it here. For updates as we receive them from IDFPR, please make sure you’re enrolled in the NASW Illinois in MyNASW.
