Hello Jane Addams District Members,

“The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let things go.” — Author Unknown

Welcome to fall, and welcome to all new and renewing members. We appreciate your support and value your membership.

Hopefully, this finds everyone well and staying safe. Through this pandemic, our organization has been strong and supportive, leading and advocating for us. Here is a list of our most current resources:

Thanks to all who attended our exciting ethics workshop on GotoWebinar. Jonathan Nye was not only informative, but interesting when sharing real life case situations. I have gotten good feedback and hope to bring him back for a full-day training when things open again. If you missed this training or you are looking for an event, check out scroll down to "Recorded CE Events."

This year’s Rethinking Ethics: 2020 NASW-Illinois Chapter Conference will be taking place on Thursday, November 19, 2020, in an all virtual format. Earn up to 6 CEUs, including licensure requirements for ethics and trainings on sexual harassment prevention and mandated reporting. Read more and register here:

I hope many of you have joined the NASW Illinois group within the MyNASW Community. If you have not please check it out. It is a great place to post questions, answer questions or share information, or start a discussion with other social workers. Here are the steps to get there. To find the NASW Illinois community within MyNASW:

  1. Go to:

  2. Go to the “Communities” tab, and click on, “All Communities.”

  3. Find “NASW Illinois” and click the red 'Join' button.

  4. That’s it! To post a question, click on the “Discussion” sub-tab within the NASW Illinois community, and the green “Post New Message” button.

Be safe. Thank You for all you do.

To say the good bye to the people is ever the difficult decision. To adopt the are always gives the better option to the students. We are attached with the people and we do find I difficult to leave them at the certain stages of the life.
